The games themselves perfectly recapture the 8-bit look and sound, but the quality in each title doesn't quite live up to the majority of the NES games I played, and still play today. While the gameplay is very solid for the most part, I can't see myself ever replaying this. I have to admit I'm not quite as smitten as most of the other people in this thread. I'm not being spoiled here, I've been playing games since the Atari and I find the other games in the collection very fun. If they already put a warp spell and save anywhere, why not descriptions? Why intentionally make the experience 'painful' with items, spells and equips while 'lessening the pain' in other areas? Why would a character learn a spell out of nowhere and have no idea of its effects before using it? Why would you buy a weapon without knowing it's better than the ones you have? It makes no sense, it's just troublesome while adding nothing to the experience besides making you waste time with loading saves.īut what you pointed out is what I don't understand actually.
